Senior Ecologist
Simon has performed a unique blend of work across private, government and industrial sectors. Throughout this experience Simon has developed advanced project management and research skills as well as a strong appreciation of ecological processes. Simon’s recent consulting experience and work with DECCW has dramatically strengthened his knowledge of State and Federal planning frameworks and their application to a wide range of projects for private and public sectors. He has a strong knowledge of threatened species issues and procedures for threatened species assessment, recovery and conservation.

Simon’s diverse range of roles has equipped him with wide ranging field work and coordination skills. Specifically he has completed extensive terrestrial flora and fauna surveys throughout the Sydney Basin and remote areas of New South Wales, water-quality sampling and analysis, invertebrate and macro-algal/plant surveys from marine and wetland communities, seagrass mapping and coral and fish surveys.

As a consultant, Simon has been involved in a diverse range of projects including flora and fauna assessments, plans of management, vegetation surveys, biobanking pilots, and ecological impact assessments for proposals under various parts of the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. Simon, has developed strong and effective oral and written communication skills as well as technical skills with GIS in mapping and analysis.
